757 Showdown: Norview makes it three in a row over Maury 54-27

Posted

Norfolk, Va. - Friday night was going to be one to remember at Norview High School. Two of Norfolk's oldest schools squared off in another series of a heated rivalry. Over the last 12 meetings, Maury (0-3) has won eight of them. Recently, it's been all Norview (3-1), winning last season's contest 33-14. The Pilots started this game off with three straight touchdown drives to set the tone in a 54-27 rout of the Commodores.

University of Buffalo commit Kevin Marks led the ground game for the Pilots, rushing for three touchdowns and had one called back on a penalty. There was some intensity in this game, leading to a small tussle on the sidelines that stopped play for about 10 minutes.

Norview head coach Dealton Cotton was happy that his guys executed through all adversity. " You know our kids fought through whatever, I'm proud of them for doing what they did, coming out and playing hard," says Dealton. "We're going to continue to play hard, and continue to do the right stuff, and you know our kids will be prepared. We're getting ready for Lake Taylor."

Norview hosts another inner-city rival Lake Taylor next Saturday at Norview at 1 p.m.
