Gilmerton Bridge closed this weekend. (S Military Hwy)

Friday, September 16 at 9 p.m. through Monday, September 19 at 5 a.m.

ERT WEEKLY CONSTRUCTION SCHEDULE From Friday, Sept. 9 to Friday, Sept. 16

 Below is a list of significant tunnel/lane closures for the Elizabeth River Tunnels (ERT) Project. Due to the nature of construction, closure dates are subject to change. Visit our Travel Impacts page for current information and a more detailed listing of long-term temporary road closures.

U.S. 58 East: Full weekend tunnel closure from Friday, Sept. 16 at 8 p.m. through Monday, Sept. 19 at 5 a.m.

London Boulevard East/ U.S. 58: Full on-ramp closure continues through Thursday, Sept. 15 from 7 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning. Additionally, this ramp will be closed on Saturday, Sept. 10 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.

I-264 East/ Frederick Boulevard: Full off-ramp closure  Sunday through Friday, Sept. 11-16 from 7 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning.

I-264 East/West: Alternating lane closures between Effingham Street and Victory Boulevard Sunday through Friday, Sept. 11-16 from 7 p.m. each night until 5 a.m. the following morning.

HAMPTON ROADS WEEKLY LANE CLOSURES REPORT September 9, 2016 through September 16, 2016

  • I-64 Hampton Roads Bridge-Tunnel: Single-lane closures westbound. One lane will remain open at all times:
  • Westbound September 11-15 from 9 p.m. until as late as 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • I-664 Monitor-Merrimac Memorial Bridge-Tunnel: Alternating and single-lane closures northbound and southbound as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:
  • Northbound September 13-15 from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
  • Southbound September 14-15 from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • US-17 James River Bridge: Night-time single-lane closures southbound and northbound. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • Southbound September 12-16 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
    • Northbound September 16 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
  • I-64 High Rise Bridge: Single-lane closures as follows eastbound and westbound. One lane will remain open at all times:
  • Eastbound /Westbound September 12-15 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • US-17 George P. Coleman Bridge: Single-lane closures as follows eastbound and westbound. One lane will remain open at all times:
  • Northbound September 12-16 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
  • Terminal Boulevard Resurfacing, Norfolk: Full weeknight/weekend closures westbound as follows. Alternating lane closures eastbound as follows and one lane will remain open at all times:
    • Eastbound September 12-16 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
  • Westbound Weeknights September 12-16 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • I-664 Southbound, Newport News: Single-lane ramp closures as follows southbound. One lane will remain open at all times. The Inspection Station will remain open at all times:
  • 23rd Street ramp to Terminal Avenue September 14-17 from as early as 7 p.m. until as late as 8 a.m. the following morning.
  • I-664 Northbound, Newport News: Single-lane closures as follows northbound. One lane will remain open at all times. The Inspection Station will remain open at all times:
    • I-664 Northbound to 25th Street Overpass September 14-15 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • I-464 Southbound, Chesapeake: Single-lane on-ramp closures September 12 from I-464 southbound to Route 17 (Elizabeth City exit) from 8:30 p.m. until 12 a.m. Intermittent traffic stoppages September 12 to begin at 10 p.m. and will last up to 15 minutes at a time. I-464 southbound (Oak Grove Connector) will not be impacted.
  • I-64 Eastbound, Hampton: Double-lane closures as follows eastbound. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • September 11-15 from 10 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning between I-664 Exit and Hampton River Bridge Overpass.
  • I-64 Westbound, Hampton: Single-lane closures as follows westbound. Two lanes will remain open at all times:
    • September 11-14 from 8 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning between Mercury Boulevard South and Mercury Boulevard North.
  • I-564 Eastbound, Norfolk: Single- lane closures eastbound September 12-15 from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning between Terminal Boulevard and Norfolk Naval Station Gates 3A and 3.
  • I-564 Westbound Tunnel, Norfolk: Single- lane closures westbound September 14 from 2:30 p.m. until 6:30 p.m.
  • Military Highway Continuous Flow Intersection, Norfolk: Alternating single-lane closures as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:
  • September 11 – September 17: Single-lane closures northbound from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning on Military Highway between Lowery Rd and the intersection Military Highway/Princess Anne Road.
  • September 11 – September 17: Alternating single-lane closures eastbound and westbound from 7 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning on Princess Anne Rd between Cowand Avenue and the intersection of Military Highway.
  • I-95 Northbound/Southbound, Greenville County: Alternating lane closures northbound and southbound as follows. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • Northbound September 14-15 from 9 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. between Exit 17 Exit 20.
  • US-17, Isle of Wight County: Single-lane closures southbound in Carrolton. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • September 12-16 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
  • US-17 Sidney B. Hazelwood Bridge, Isle of Wight County: Alternating lane closures southbound and northbound. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • September 13-16 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
  • Business Route 258, Cypress Creek Bridge, Smithfield: Alternating lane closures eastbound and westbound on Business Route 258. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • September 13-16 from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
  • US-60 Eastbound/Westbound, James City County: Consecutive single-lane closures eastbound and westbound September 7-16 from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. between Forge Road and Industrial Boulevard. One lane will remain open at all times.
  • US-13 (Lankford Highway), Accomack County: Consecutive single-lane closures northbound at the intersection on Route 179. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • September 6-December 5 from 12 p.m. until 5 a.m. the following morning.
  • US-13 (Lankford Highway), Northampton County/Melfa: Daytime single-lane closures northbound and southbound in Onley. One lane will remain open at all times:
    • September 12-15 from as early as 7 a.m. until as late as 7 p.m.
    • September 15 from 6 a.m. until 6 p.m. (Melfa)
    • September 16 from as early as 7 a.m. until 12 p.m.
  • Elizabeth River Tunnels/Martin Luther King, Jr. Freeway:  Please check Elizabeth River Tunnels website for the latest closure and detour information regarding the Downtown Tunnel, Midtown Tunnel and the MLK Freeway.
  • George Washington Memorial Highway (Route 17), York County: Crews are widening the road between Route 630 (Wolf Trap Road) and Route 706 (Hampton Highway). Daytime single-lane closures, from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m. and weeknight single-lane closures, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. Expect traffic shifts and delays. CHESAPEAKE:

NORTH BATTLEFIELD BLVD SINGLE LANE CLOSURE

Southbound North Battlefield Blvd right-turn lane at Medical Pkwy

Through October 15

 Continued utilities installation will keep the right-turn lane on southbound North Battlefield Blvd at Medical Pkwy closed through October 15.  Motorists should be alert to work crews, equipment in the area and possible delays.
