Police investigating shooting of 19-year-old in Hampton

HAMPTON, Va. – Hampton Police are investigating a shooting that occurred on September 10 that injured a 19-year-old.

Police say officers responded to a complaint of a shooting victim in the 200 block of Settlers Landing Road around 9:40 p.m.

Officers arrived on scene and found the 19-year-old victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was transported to a local hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.

Further investigation revealed that the victim was walking in the 800 block of LaSalle Avenue in the LaSalle Landings apartment complex when he was approached by three people.

An argument broke out and during the argument, one of the suspects took out a gun and began shooting at the victim.

The motive and circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
