PORTSMOUTH Va. - The school year got off to a terrifying start for one Portsmouth family. Yesterday, a kindergartner got on the wrong bus at Hodges Manor Elementary School and was missing for hours.
The kindergartner's mother tells News 3 she knew something was wrong when her daughter didn't get off the school bus.
She called the girl's father who is currently working across the country, then went to the school and called police.
The girl was found two hours after she went missing. Her mother says she was at an after school camp.
While the family is grateful that the 4-year-old wasn't hurt during the hours she was missing, her family wants to know how this mistake happened.
They say the school system is still investigating the mistake.
