Local first responders honored on Labor Day

HAMPTON ROADS, Va. – First responders across the country were thanked for their hard work this Labor Day with a free lunch.

More than 800 Olive Garden restaurants nationwide delivered and served lunch to police stations, fire stations and emergency rooms in their local communities.

This year the following local agencies were treated to lunch:

  • Chesapeake Fire Station 14
  • Chesapeake Police Department
  • Hampton City Police department
  • Newport News Fire Department, Station 11
  • Norfolk Fire and Rescue station 1
  • Virginia Beach Fire Department station #16

Olive Garden has given lunch to first responders on Labor Day for 15 years, resulting in more than 10,000 meals served since 2002.
