DARE Co., N.C. – A tornado touched down off of the 57000 block Eagle Pass Road in Hatteras around 1 a.m. Saturday.

Four people were taken to the hospital with minor injuries, according to Dare County officials.

The storm overturned campers and moved two other homes. “It was a really close call. I feel blessed to be honest with you,” said Brian McArthur, whose home was not damaged. “It hit close to home.”

“I got somebody looking out for me and my family,” McArthur said.

A Tornado Warning was in effect for the area at the time of the damage.
