VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - A man is accused of trying to hire a hitman to kill his wife, according to a federal criminal complaint affidavit.

Chadwick Ghesquiere was arrested last week. The member of the Navy is charged with use of interstate commerce facilities in the commission of murder for hire.

Ghesquiere met with a confidential source and discussed killing his wife, according to court documents. He told the source that he and his wife were having marital issues. He wanted to kill her, so "he didn't have to to deal with her or pay child support," court documents say.

Earlier this summer, Ghesquiere got into a dispute with his wife. Court documents say he told the confidential source, "I want to get rid of this [expletive] because she is going to keep [expletive] with me, do you have someone that will off that [expletive]?"

Eventually, the confidential source introduced Ghesquiere to "CJ," who was actually an under cover agent. Ghesquiere was recorded with both audio and video equipment discussing the plot with "CJ," even offering to split his wife's life insurance policy with the hitman, according to court documents.

"CJ" had to travel I-95 more than once to get from an ATF field office to meet with with Ghesquiere, according to court documents.
