PORTSMOUTH, Va. – The Portsmouth Health Department is offering a free walk-in clinic for kindergardeners and rising sixth graders to get their back to school immunizations.

With the new school year around the corner, getting your children immunized sooner may help you save time waiting in lines later.

Saturday, August 20, from 12-4 p.m. the clinic will be open along with the regular walk-in immunization hours Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8-11 a.m. and 12:30-3 p.m.

The clinic is located at the  Portsmouth Health Dept, 1701 High Street.

It’s free and if you have insurance your insurance company will be billed.

The Health Department asks you to bring your child’s current immunization records.

Rising sixth graders are required to have the Tdap vaccine.

All incoming kindergardeners are required to have DTaP, Polio, MMR, and the Varicella vaccines.
