Deputies make arrest in homicide of 19-year-old man in Accomack County

ACCOMACK COUNTY, Va. – Authorities in Accomack County have made an arrest in the homicide case of a 19-year-old man.

Around 12:45 a.m. on August 12, the Accomack County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a person who had been shot near the intersection of Nocks Landing Road and Greta Road.

When deputies, troopers and rescue personnel arrived, they found 19-year-old Nathanial Adam Ayres dead with several gunshot wounds.

On August 17, deputies arrested a 17-year-old male at his home. He has been charged with first degree murder, use of a firearm in the commission of a murder, robbery and use of a firearm in commission of a robbery.

The teen is being held in the Norfolk Juvenile Detention Center.
