Richmond, Va. - Monday, the Redskins hold their second to last "two-a-day" in Richmond. The team will conduct a 10:35am walkthrough and 3:00pm practice as Washington prepares for its preseason opener Thursday at Atlanta.

The team has unveiled its initial depth chart of the preseason. The pecking order is listed as "unofficial".

Notes from the depth chart: The running backs are listed as Matt Jones-Chris Thompson-Keith Marshall. The secondary consists of Josh Norman (cornerback), Bashaud Breeland (cornerback), DeAngelo Hall (free safety) and David Bruton, Jr. (strong safety). Also, Trent Murphy, who had been moved to defensive end, will shift back to outside linebacker to help fill the void left by Junior Gallete's season-ending Achilles injury.

Sunday, the team returned to work after its second off day of training camp. Because it's game week, head coach Jay Gruden can sense a the intensity turning-up a notch, even if it's ever-so-slightly.

"I think so," Gruden admitted. "I think everybody still feeling their way… especially the young guys trying to make their mark and learn the system, so I don’t think it will sink in really until Tuesday. We don’t start talking about the Falcons or the first preseason game until close to the game time. This isn’t like a typical game week."

Gruden said rookie receiver Reggie Diggs, a Surry County High School product, will miss Thursday's game due to continued soreness in his knee - an injury that had Diggs on the Physically Unable to Perform list at the beginning of camp. Receiver Jamison Crowder (hamstring) will also sit-out Thursday's preseason opener.

Sunday, tight end Jordan Reed and tackle Trent Williams returned to practice after sitting-out Friday's afternoon workout. Williams, however, did not take part in team drills - only individual work.

"We’ll gradually progress him until he’s ready to roll, which is very, very close,” Gruden said of Williams' progress.
