PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Protests against the Democratic National Committee spilled out of the convention and into the nearby media pavilion for the second night in a row on Wednesday.
Despite repeated calls by Bernie Sanders for "party unity" protesters and delegates staged a sit-in protest following the roll call vote on Tuesday. Activists were wearing tape over their mouths and carrying signs denouncing the DNC and Hillary Clinton.
On Wednesday more demonstrators took their message to the press saying, "I'm with Nina." They were referring to Nina Turner, the Ohio State Senator who was allegedly stopped from appearing on stage at the convention.
Wednesday's demonstration featured some prominent faces within the entertainment community like Susan Sarandon, Danny Glover, and Shailene Woodley. Labor activists with National Nurses United shared the stage as well as the message.
The media pavilion is beside the Wells Fargo Center. Three tents are filled with different news publications working around the clock to file stories. On both nights police quickly locked down the central tent.
