CURRITUCK Co., N.C. – A new, state-of-the-art, water park is coming to the Outer Banks!
Aquatic Development Group, Inc., the designers and builders of the project, say plans are confirmed for the new 80 acre park.
It will be two miles north of the Wright Memorial Bridge in lower Currituck County.
The development will be lead by a new company, OBX Waterpark Adventure LLC.
The company has been formed to establish, build, and operate the water park and resort development industry.
“The Outer Banks vacation area has such a rich history with room to grow the recreational leisure market, says Kenneth Ellis, co-owner of OBX Waterpark Adventure LLC. “The first-class water park development will be a major draw for visiting families and will allow the Outer Banks to benefit economically from a $45 million project and in turn creating incremental tourism dollars.”
Arthur Berry III, co-owner of OBX Waterpark Adventure LLC said, “The location of this development is critical to the draw and appeal of the water park,” states Berry. “By locating the property just off the Outer Banks it allows the area to retain its relaxed beach atmosphere, yet at the same time provide visitors with an easily accessible option for a one-of-a-kind recreational experience.”
