***A Heat Advisory is in effect from Noon until 8 PM today for all of Eastern Virginia and Northeastern North Carolina. Most areas will see highs in the mid 90s with heat index values from 105 to 110.***
Hot again but tracking storms… Highs will reach the mid 90s this afternoon and again It will feel about 10 degrees hotter with heat index values from 105 to 110 for most areas. Expect partly cloudy skies with scattered showers and storms firing up this afternoon as a cold front moves in and stalls over the Mid-Atlantic. Some storms could be strong to severe with gusty winds and heavy downpours possible.
Highs will slip into the low 90s for the second half of the work week. It will still be humid, so triple digit heat index values are still possible. With a line of fronts lingering over the Mid-Atlantic, expect a mix of sun and clouds with scattered showers and storms through the end of the work week and into the weekend.
