HAMPTON ROADS, Va. - Police departments throughout Hampton Roads have been reacting to the news of yet another attack on police, this time in Baton Rouge, La.
Hampton Police Chief Terry Sult released a statement Sunday:
"Just as Hampton Police Department was preparing to remove our memorial ribbons in honor of those fallen and shot in Dallas, we learn this morning of what appears to be another ambush shooting targeting police officers. Once again a part of America has died. Our hearts and prayers once again go out to the officers killed, wounded, their families, and the family of the shield."
Virginia Beach Police also shared their condolences, they tweeted:
"Baton Rouge, you are in our thoughts and prayers. Rest in peace our brothers."
Newport News Police tweeted:
“Our hearts are heavy and our thoughts and prayers are in Baton Rouge today #thinblueline.”
