NORFOLK, Va. – A deputy was shot in the foot after he accidentally discharged his weapon.
According to dispatch, it happened Thursday at 6:12 p.m. on East City Hall Avenue at the Norfolk City Jail.
The deputy accidentally shot his weapon at the firearm clearing station at the loading dock area of the jail, according to a spokesperson with Norfolk Sheriff’s Office.
The deputy was taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
