Norfolk, Va. -- Her physique is fit for a living legend. Former eight-time Ms. Olympia Lenda Murray is making waves in Norfolk with her professional bodybuilding competition set for this Saturday in Norfolk.
"I wanted to bring the pros to Norfolk," said Murray. "They're coming from all over the world. Sweden. Germany. Spain."
This is Murray's 13th year hosting the competition in Norfolk, but the first year that professional bodybuilding athletes will be competing.
"They get to see the beauty of this place," Murray said referring to Norfolk. "So I'm really excited about it."
At 54 years old, Murray is still in phenomenal shape. She said you can be too, no matter where you are along the fitness journey.
"You can start right where you are," she said. "Sometimes you think you have to be in great shape to start exercising. Start right where you are."
Murray said do not let numbers on a scale or sizes determine success along the way, either.
"It's really about the way you feel," she said. "We get it twisted, and we want to be a size 2, or 4, or 6, or 8, or 12. It's about consistency. Keep it simple. Small steps will lead to a perfect you."
Murray's show begins this Saturday at 5pm at the Norfolk Marriott Waterside Hotel. You can get tickets on site, or call 310-904-3148. Murray will also be supporting the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia by accepting canned goods and donations during the show.

To get a toned tummy, Murray told News 3's Jessica Larche that nutrition is the main focus.
"When it comes to the midsection there are two things. Exercise is important, however, what we eat is super important," said Murray. "It's really about your nutrition."
