First Warning Forecast: More heat and humidity, along with a few storms

Posted

More heat and humidity ahead, along with a few storms….We’re tracking much hotter weather over the next few days as well as a chance for thunderstorms.

As we move through our Tuesday afternoon, highs will climb into the mid 80s. It will feel a bit more humid out there today compared to yesterday. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds along with a few widely scattered showers and thunderstorms, due in part to a stationary front to our south. Some of the rain could be a bit heavy at times with heavy rain. Tonight, a few scattered showers and storms are possible. Otherwise, we’ll see partly cloudy skies with overnight low temperatures in the mid 70s.

On Wednesday, the stationary front to our south will start to move to the north a bit, increasing our chance for showers and thunderstorms, especially by the afternoon and evening. Again, heavy rain will be possible with any storms that develop. Otherwise, we’ll see a mix of sun and clouds with high temperatures in the mid and upper 80s.

For Thursday and Friday, rain chances will go down a bit, but the heat and humidity will be cranking up. High temperatures will climb into the mid 90s, but when you factor in the humidity, it will feel like the triple digits. In fact, we’ll likely have heat index values between 100 and 105 on both afternoons, so take your precautions. The hot, humid weather sticks around into Saturday before temps take a trip back into the upper 80s by Sunday.

Today: Partly Cloudy, Scattered Showers/Storms(30%). Highs in the mid 80s. Winds: SE 5-15 mph.

Tonight: Partly Cloudy, Scattered Showers/Storms(30%). Lows in the mid 70s. Winds: SE 5-10 mph.

Tomorrow: Partly Sunny, Scattered Showers/Storms(40%). Highs in the mid 80s. Winds: S 5-10 mph.
