First Warning Forecast: It’s warm now, but it’s getting much hotter again soon

Posted

It’s warm now, but it’s getting much hotter again soon….Enjoy this brief break from the extreme heat because it won’t last long. In fact, the heat and humidity are making a comeback later in the week.

As we move through our Monday afternoon, expect high temperatures in the mid and upper 80s. It won’t feel as hot today because our humidity levels will be lower. We’ll see a mix of sun and clouds today.  A couple of isolated showers and storms could pop up here and there as a stationary front remains parked over the Carolinas. Best rain chances will likely be over Northeastern North Carolina today, along with parts of Southside Hampton Roads. We’re not expecting widespread rain though.  Tonight, expect partly cloudy skies. A stray shower is possible early, but most areas will be dry. Low temperatures will be in the mid 70s.

On Tuesday, the stationary front to our south will begin moving north as a warm front, which could spark off a few more showers and thunderstorms. Otherwise, we’ll see partly cloudy skies with highs in the mid 80s. Rain chances go up a bit more into Wednesday. So, we’ll see a few scattered showers and storms by then with highs in the mid 80s.

Highs in the 90s will return, along with more humidity, on Thursday and Friday. Scattered showers and storms are possible Friday into the weekend.

Today: Partly Cloudy, Isolated Showers/Storms(20%). Highs in the mid 80s. Winds: S/E 5-10

Tonight: Partly Cloudy, Isolated Showers/Storms(20%). Lows in the mid 70s. Winds: SE 5-10

Tomorrow: Partly Sunny, Scattered Showers/Storms(30%). Highs in the mid 80s. Winds: SE 5-15
