Hampton Police: Shots fired during pizza shop robbery

HAMPTON, Va. – Police are investigating an armed robbery at a pizza restaurant Monday night.

Police were called to Ricco’s Pizza, located in the 1st Block of West Mercury Boulevard shortly after 10 p.m.  The investigation revealed that the suspect entered the business through a rear door, displayed a firearm and demanded money.

After obtaining an undisclosed amount of money, the suspect fled through the rear door towards Green Street.  The suspect fired one shot inside the building and fired one shot after leaving the business.

No injuries were reported.

The suspect was described as a black male, 30-40 years old, with a bald head and a large bushy beard.  He was last seen wearing a gray coat with a red stripe in the middle and a blue stripe on the bottom of the coat.  The suspect was also wearing a Halloween style mask.

Tipsters can also send an anonymous tip via text message to the Crime Line by texting “HAMPTONPDTIPS plus your tip” to 274637 (CRIMES).  Crime Line callers remain anonymous and never appear in court.  If a Crime Line call resulted in an arrest, the caller would be eligible for a reward up to $1,000.00.
