It’s farewell for now for more than 4,000 Sailors and Marines as they left for a six month deployment Saturday.

They will serve in the Wasp Amphibious Ready Group (WSP ARG) in support of maritime security operations and theater security cooperation.

The USS San Antonio departed from Naval Station Norfolk. The USS Whidbey Island departed from Joint Expeditionary Base Little Creek-Fort Story.
