Tracking more showers and storms….While most of us were dry today, we’re bracing for more showers and storms that could impact some of us late tonight but more of us on Thursday.
We’re keeping a close eye on a frontal system that will approach the area from the northwest. Late tonight, a few widely scattered showers and storms could move into the area, giving way to some heavy rain and gusty winds to some of us. Otherwise, most of us will see partly to mostly cloudy skies with overnight lows in the mid 70s.
The front will sweep through the area on Thursday. While a few scattered showers and storms are possible in the morning, best rain/storm chances will arrive in the afternoon and evening. Some of those storms could be strong to severe with damaging winds, hail and localized flooding. Otherwise, we’ll see partly to mostly cloudy skies. High temperatures will soar into the low and mid 90s.
As the front slides to our south on Friday, we’ll still have some a few lingering showers in the forecast. However, at this time, we’re not expecting rain all day. Gradually, we’ll see our skies clear by evening. High temperatures will cool into the upper 70s and lower 80s. Then, this weekend, expect mainly dry conditions under mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies. Highs will be in the lower 80s.
Tonight: Partly Cloudy, Widely Scattered Showers/Storms Late (30%). Low temperatures in the mid 70s. Winds: SW 5-10 mph.
Thursday: Partly to Mostly Cloudy. Scattered Showers/Storms (50%). High temperatures in the low to mid 90s. Winds: SW/W 5-15 mph.
Friday: More Clouds Than Sun. Chance of Showers/Storms early (30%). Then, gradual clearing. High temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Winds: NE 10-15 mph.
