and last updated

Tracking the heat, humidity and strong storms….As we move into the first full day of summer on Tuesday, get ready for hot, humid conditions, along with a chance of strong to possibly severe thunderstorms.

But first, for our Monday night, expect mostly clear skies. Low temperatures will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Winds will blow in from the southwest between 5 and 10 mph.

Then, all eyes are on a cold front to our north. This front will slide in by Tuesday evening and night. Now, ahead of the front, temperatures will warm into the lower 90s, but because of the humidity, it will feel much hotter. We’ll also see a mix of sun and clouds during the day. But late in the evening, scattered showers and thunderstorms will move in. Some of those storms could be strong to possibly severe. Damaging wind gusts will be the main threat. However, we can’t rule out an isolated tornado. We’ll keep a close eye on the forecast for you .

By Wednesday, we’re not expecting as much rain as the cold front moves to our south a bit. While an isolated shower is possible, most areas will be dry during the day. We’ll see partly cloudy skies otherwise. High temperatures will be in the mid 80s.

On Thursday, another frontal system will move in from the north, giving way to more scattered showers and thunderstorms. High temperatures will warm into the lower 90s. Not as much rain is expected on Friday for now. Highs will drop into the lower 80s. Next weekend brings sunshine with highs in the low and mid 80s.

Tonight: Mostly Clear and Mild. Low temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Winds: SW 5-10 mph.

Tuesday: Sun and Clouds. Scattered PM Showers/Storms (30-40%). Breezy. High temperatures in the lower 90s. Winds: SW 10-15 mph.

Wednesday: Partly Cloudy. Isolated Shower/Storm (20%). High temperatures in the mid 80s. Winds: W 5-10 mph.
