Tracking showers and storms….Keep your rain gear handy. We’ll have to dodge scattered showers and storms over the next couple of days.

As we move through our Wednesday night, a few isolated to scattered showers and storms are possible as a frontal system hangs out across the area. Any storms that develop have the potential to be strong, with gusty winds and heavy rain. Otherwise, expect mostly cloudy skies and overnight lows in the lower 70s.

On Thursday and Friday, an area of low pressure will approach the area from the northwest, giving way to more unsettled weather. For Thursday, we’ll likely see areas of patchy fog to start, then partly sunny skies with a few scattered showers and storms. As the low moves offshore into Friday, we’ll have scattered rain, a few storms and breezy winds. In fact, our winds will blow in from the northeast between 15 and 25 mph. So, we’ll likely have some tidal flooding around high tide on Friday. High tide at Sewells Point on Friday is at 7:46 a.m. and 8:11 p.m. High temperatures on Thursday will be in the mid 80s. By Friday, highs will drop into the mid and upper 70s.

By the weekend, conditions are looking fairly nice for dad! On Saturday, we’ll see a mix of sun and clouds with highs in the mid 70s. The winds will continue to be a bit breezy at times. Father’s Day brings mostly sunny skies and high temperatures in the upper 70s.

Tonight: Mostly Cloudy. Scattered Showers/Storms Possible (30%). Low temperatures in the low 70s. Winds: S/SW 5-10 mph.

Thursday: Patchy AM Fog. Then, partly sunny. Scattered Showers/Storms (40%). High temperatures in the mid 80s. Winds: SW-NE 5-10 mph.

Friday: Mostly Cloudy. Scattered Showers/Storms (60%). Breezy. High temperatures in the mid and upper 70s. Winds: NE 15-25 mph.
