RALEIGH, N.C. – Rep. Walter Jones will be the Republican nominee for North Carolina’s 3rd district for the 11th straight contest.

Jones won Tuesday night with two-thirds of the vote. He beat Taylor Griffin of New Bern and Phil Law of Jacksonville.

This is the second election cycle where Griffin has lost to Jones in the primary. Griffin served in the White House and the Treasury Department under President George W. Bush.

Jones will face either Democrat Ernest Reeves or David Allen Hurst in the general election.
