NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – A Hampton woman was arrested Sunday in connection to a malicious wounding that occurred Friday, June 3.

Newport News Police say they were called to a home in the 2300 block of Madison Avenue around 2:45 p.m. that afternoon.

Officers arrived to find a 23-year-old woman suffering from several non-life threatening but serious wounds that appeared to be from a knife. She was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The victim told police that she was in her vehicle in the parking lot when a woman she knows, later identified as 23-year-old Raven Bunch, jumped into the passenger seat and stabbed the victim.

The incident was due to an argument over an alleged online social media posting.

Bunch was identified by the victim and warrants were obtained for her arrest on Saturday, June 4. Bunch was served with the warrant on Sunday, June 5. She has been charged with one count of malicious wounding.
