Thomas Almberg is charged with solicitation of a minor and indecent liberties with a minor

CHESAPEAKE, Va. - A City of Chesapeake Fire Lieutenant was arrested on May 25 for solicitation and indecent liberties with a minor.

Thomas Almberg, 49,  was arrested for 10 counts of using a communication device to solicit a minor and two counts of indecent liberties with a minor.

The victim is 16 years old.

Almberg is being held in jail without bond.

He is on leave from the fire department where he has worked since 1999.

Chesapeake's Internet Crime Against Children Unit started the investigation in April.

The investigation is ongoing.
