U.S. Navy Sailor who died while underway in the Red Sea identified

The Department of Defense has identified a U.S. Navy Sailor who died while supporting Operation Inherent Resolve.

Gunner’s Mate Seaman Connor Alan McQuagge, 19, of Utah died on May 26, 2016 of a non-combat related injury while underway in the Red Sea.

An investigation into his death is underway.

McQuagge was assigned to the USS Harpers Ferry (LSD 49) which is forward deployed in the U.S. 5th Fleet area of operations.
