Newport News firefighters find missing cat after house fire

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. – Newport News firefighters helped a homeowner reunite with her missing cat after a fire in her home on Friday.

Newport News Fire crews were sent to the home in the 900 block of Etna Drive just after 11 a.m.

When they arrived, they quickly extinguished a kitchen fire.

The homeowner’s cat was missing for a short time, but firefighters were able to find the cat and hand it back over to the ¬†grateful owner.
