Meteorologist Myles Henderson’s First Warning Forecast
Watching the tropics… Expect plenty of sunshine again today with just a few passing clouds. It will be slightly cooler than yesterday with highs in the mid 80s this afternoon. A stray “pop-up” shower or storm is possible but chances will be very slim. It will be slightly breezy with south winds at 10 to 15 mph.
We continue to track an area of low pressure near the Bahamas and moving northwest. It will move inland near South Carolina by Sunday, throwing showers and storms across the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast. There is a chance that this area of low pressure could develop into a tropical system on Friday.
Expect a bit of a 50/50 holiday weekend. Expect sunshine on Saturday with clouds building in during the afternoon and evening. An isolated shower is possible Saturday night. Clouds and rain will spread in on Sunday. Expect scattered showers and storms for Sunday and Monday. Temperatures will cool a bit for the weekend, into the low 80s and upper 70s.
