VIRGINIA BEACH, Va.- Climbers have been challenged by the Coastal Virginia Magazine and the Adventure Park at Virginia Aquarium, to join or sponsor teams in order to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Association for research and family support.
The Longest Day is a team event to raise funds and awareness for the Alzheimer’s Association. The annual event will take place June 16, from 7 a.m. – 11 p.m.
There will be a limit of 100 climbers, so make sure to get your group together and sign up today. Participants climb for free, but will be required to participate in one 4-hour shift during the day and raise a minimum of $100 in donations.
This will happen around the date of the summer solstice, the duration of this sunrise to sunset event symbolizes the challenging journey of those living with the disease and their caregivers.
Teams are encouraged to create their own experience as they fund raise and participate in an activity – in honor of someone facing the disease.
