In its seventh year, the ride has brought honor and awareness to  fallen law enforcement officers. The ride raises money for charities that support those officers families.

This year, the Virginia division of the L.E.U. is expected to raise $350,000 and will be joined by riders from as far as Florida.

Before the 400 bicyclists begin their journey, they will be stopping at Temple Baptist Church in Chesapeake to honor local and fallen officer Todd Dooley. He was an active member of the L.E.U.

Bicyclists are expected to reach Washington, D.C. on Thursday, May 12. Their end point will be right outside of Arlington National Cemetery.
