First Warning Forecast: A little sun and a little rain for Mother’s Day Weekend

Posted

A little sun and a little rain for Mother’s Day Weekend….After days of gloomy weather, we will slowly see our forecast improve. The area of low pressure that has been controlling our weather over the past few days will push farther away from the area today. Still, the flow around the low will keep our weather a bit unsettled. We’ll see partly to mostly cloudy skies today. A few scattered showers are also possible here and there, but the entire day will not be a washout. High temperatures will be in the upper 60s and lower 70s.  Tonight, expect partly to mostly cloudy skies. An isolated shower is possible. Lows will be in the upper 50s and lower 60s.  There could be some nuisance tidal flooding around high tide. High tide times at Sewells Point are at 10:19 a.m. and 10:42 p.m.

A cold front will move in on Sunday. The front won’t have a ton of moisture with it. However, a couple of isolated showers are possible on Mother’s Day. Again, we’re not expecting a washout.  Otherwise, we’ll see a mixture of sun and clouds with highs in the upper 70s and lower 80s.

Then, next week, get ready for even warmer temps. We’ll see highs in the 80s with a chance of rain and thunderstorms.

Today: Partly to Mostly Cloudy. Scattered Showers (20-30%). High temperatures in the upper 60s and lower 70s. Winds: W/SW 5-10 mph.

Tonight: Partly to Mostly Cloudy. Isolated Shower (20%). Low temperatures in the upper 50s and lower 60s. Winds: SW 5-10 mph.

Mother’s Day: Partly Sunny. Slight Chance of Showers (20%). High temperatures in the upper 70s and lower 80s. Winds: Var. 5-10 mph.
