Hampton, Va. - Hampton Police say they've arrested two 21-year-old men in connection to an assault that occurred at Buckroe Beach on April 26.

Police were called to Buckroe Beach near the Main Pavilion that evening around 7:30 p.m. Officers said the crowd had started to disperse by that time and people on scene were uncooperative with them.

Further investigation revealed that the 18-year-old victim in the incident had confronted 21-year-old Desean Jones over a piece of property that the victim didn't think belonged to Jones.

Jones then reportedly began to assault the victim with multiple punches and knee strikes.

Video of the fight surfaced on social media and was shared thousands of times.

On Monday, May 2, Jones was arrested in connection to the incident. He has been charged with once count of Attempted Maiming and one count of Larceny. He remains in custody at the Hampton City Jail.

Police say they also arrested 21-year-old Gerald Jerome Boler Jr. in connection to the incident. He has been charged with one count of robbery and remains in the Hampton City Jail.

Hampton Police said there was concern that a gun was pulled during the incident but after careful analysis and video enhancement it was discovered that there was no weapon at the scene.

Patrols in the Buckroe Beach area have been stepped up and police ensure that the area will remain a safe place for families and residents to enjoy.
