NORFOLK, Va.- In the May elections, hopes of seeing the youth at the polls are very low.
"We generally do not see a lot," said G. M. Ziller poll worker at the polling station in Larchmont Elementary School.
Larchmont Elementary is only minutes away from Old Dominion University and the many students on and off campus have made strides in voting, but officials worry that the youth only votes in certain elections that do not concentrate on a local level.
"For primary we had a bunch of ODU students. They vote here or Lambert's Point," said Ziller.
All votes count and make a difference, but everyone has to contribute to see results.
Polls close at 7 p.m. on Tuesday.
