Chief Meteorologist Patrick Rockey’s First Warning Forecast

Batten down the hatches, we have a stormy workweek ahead!

A strong cold front will move into the region this evening and settle in for a few days. Pieces of energy will move along that front, bringing us a chance for showers and thunderstorms each day through mid week.

It will not be wet from beginning to end, but there will be a good chance for showers and thunderstorms each day.

Some of the storms could be strong to severe. We will be on the lookout for damaging winds, hail and flooding downpours.

By Wednesday night the cold front will move away from the region, but another front will arrive on Thursday. That will bring us another chance for scattered showers and storms through the end of the workweek.

But the payoff comes for the Mother’s Day weekend. We are expecting plenty of sunshine with high temperatures in the 70s on Saturday and the lower 80s for Mother’s Day on Sunday!
