VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - Forecasts predict rain, wind and maybe even hail. How are you preparing?

On Thursday News3 spoke to residents in Virginia Beach about what precautions they take. Ron Wollin said mainly he puts all patio furniture inside and makes sure his grill is in the garage or securely strapped down.

Virginia Beach saw bouts of rain on and off, but the roadways remained clear. People who drive in the area often say there are certain areas that are prone to flooding and need to be avoided after rains set in.

Early morning fog caused dangerous driving conditions over bridges and other bypasses so drivers were urged to travel with caution.

Overall, neighbors say the biggest threat to property can be wind.

Wollins said, “I took down a couple trees even just to make sure that I wouldn’t have any limbs. I keep everything away from the house.”
