Norfolk, Va. - After months of planning, Virginia Fashion Week is back and debuting a new spring opening.

Designers and models from Hampton Roads and all over the country will be showing off their stuff this week in several different fashion shows.

"It is the most exciting fashionable experience here in the Virginia area'" says Ron Cooke, the backstage coordinator for Virginia Fashion Week. "Virginia is for lovers of style and there's style for miles here at Virginia Fashion Week."

It all starts Tuesday night at the Michael Copon Studios. A VIP kick-off party sponsored by "Bra Ha Ha" benefiting breast health will begin the week.

From there its fashion show after fashion show with the big finale happening Sunday at O'Connors Brewery.

"We have so many different designers. We have resort wear, we'll have fall fashions, well have spring and summer ready to wear, we'll have couture, so its a little bit of everything," says the shows founder, Anne Leister.

Her daughter, Jennifer Leister, is the shows Assistant Producer. "You'll be impressed... even if you don't like every single outfit, you'll be impressed."

The show was started back in 2006 as a way to show off the talent we have here in Hampton Roads.

"I'm in awe at some of the things that people I know right here in town, some of the works that they've made, the beautiful dresses and garments and the complexity of the designs," says Leister.
