NEWPORT NEWS, Va. - Officials are investigating after a 31-year-old man was found dead and items used to manufacture methamphetamine were found nearby.
Police were called to the 800 block of Sundown Lane just before 8:30 a.m. on a report that a man wasn't breathing inside an apartment.
Officers and medics responded and the man was pronounced deceased at the scene.
According to police, due to items found at the scene, they believe the death may be drug related.
During the investigation, items used to manufacture methamphetamine were located in a parked vehicle outside of the apartment complex.
Hazardous materials units responded to investigate.
The area has been cordoned off. There are no known evacuations.
A 30-year-old woman is being interviewed by detectives.
