Female law enforcement community raises thousands for charity

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - They call themselves 'The Heat.' A group of female law enforcement officers and other women associated with various law enforcement departments, who take on fundraising efforts and charitable events simply to give back and make their community better.

Since its creation in 2010, the group has raised thousands of dollars for charities like Susan G. Komen and St. Mary's House. Group spokeswoman Angela Curran said they do it for the greater good.

The group has a bowling event coming up at the end of the month called Strikes for Tykes where all proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards helping St. Mary's House.
