Meteorologist Myles Henderson’s First Warning Forecast
Cold and very windy… A cold front is moving off of the Atlantic coast today. Expect drizzle and showers this morning with some sleet and snow mixing in. No accumulation is expected. Skies will clear this afternoon with highs only in the mid 40s. It will feel colder with strong and gusty north winds. Expect wind gusts to near 40 mph.
A Freeze Warning is in effect for much of Hampton Roads and Northeastern North Carolina from midnight to 9 AM Wednesday. Take efforts to protect sensitive vegetation with lows falling into the low 30s overnight. We will warm back into the upper 50s for Wednesday with plenty of sunshine and clouds building in late. Winds will relax and shift to the SE tomorrow.
Rain returns for Thursday as another cold front moves in. A few thunderstorms could mix in. Highs will climb into the mid and upper 60s. Clouds and showers will continue for Friday. Highs will slip back into the 40s and 50s for Friday and the weekend.
