Patrick’s First Warning Forecast: Plunging temperatures and even a few snowflakes!

Posted

Chief Meteorologist Patrick Rockey’s First Warning Forecast

Just when you thought it was safe to put away that winter coat… freezing temperatures and even a few snowflakes!

We are tracking a powerful cold front that will cross the area overnight. Expect some scattered showers late this evening and overnight, and maybe even some snowflakes mixed in Tuesday morning.

Behind that cold front temperatures will drop 25 to 30°. Most of us will go from highs in the 70s to highs in the 40s. And a blustery north wind will make it feel even colder!

And there is a freeze watch in effect for much of the area for Wednesday morning. Many of us could see temperatures down to or even below freezing.

But our winds will shift to the south by Wednesday afternoon, pushing temperatures back into the 60s by Thursday.

However, another cold front will bring us more showers and possibly thunderstorms on Thursday. Some of the wet weather may stick around for Friday and even early on Saturday. But the warm weather will not stick around. We expect to be back in the 40s and 50s for the weekend. Buckle your seat belts.
