Sunny, cool and windy today, then warmer on Monday….The winds that blew through overnight packed quite a punch across Hampton Roads and Northeastern NC with a strong cold front. Several areas saw winds gusts at 50 mph or higher. Now, with the front to our south, the winds will subside a bit on this Sunday, but winds will continue to be breezy from the northwest between 15 and 25 mph, with some higher gusts along the coast. High temperatures will be in the mid 50s under mostly sunny skies. Tonight, expect mostly clear conditions with overnight low temperatures in the lower 40s.
On Monday, the sun will stick around. High temperatures will climb into the lower 70s ahead of another cold front. That front will slide through the area late Monday night, giving way to a few showers. By Tuesday afternoon, highs will sink into the upper 40s! On Wednesday morning, many areas will start the day near freezing, but by afternoon, highs will climb into the upper 50s. We’re expecting rain Thursday with highs in the upper 60s.
