Hundreds walk to raise money for National Multiple Sclerosis Society

Norfolk, Va. – Over 800 people will walk to raise more than $73,000 to stop Multiple Sclerosis (MS) at the 25th Annual “Walk MS: South Hampton Roads.”

Walk MS is an opportunity for people to connect, join together, be inspired and raise critical funds for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

In 2015, more than 315,000 people in nearly 550 locations across the country walked to help create a world free of MS. They raised nearly $50 million. Since 1988, Walk MS has raised over $920 million to fund research and life-saving services to help individuals with MS.

Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation is the  national sponsor of Walk MS. Local sponsors include Atlantic  Bay Mortgage Group, Acorda, Biogen, Sentara, California Pizza Kitchen, Care-a-Lot Pet Supply, Mancon, Inc.

The event will take place Saturday, April 17th at the MacArthur Center Green. Participants are encouraged to check in at noon. The walk kicks off at  1 p.m.
