Travelers are a few months closer to their summer vacations, but when they pack their bags, there’s one thing they often forget–a passport.

March is Passport Month. Instead of waiting until the last minute, travelers can go to passport fairs held at local United States Post Offices to fulfill their passport needs.

All passport fees have to be paid with money orders or personal checks made payable to United States Department of State. Money orders can be purchased with cash or debit cards only because credit cards cannot be used for Department of State fees.

Applicants should bring two of the following:  a certified birth certificate and current driver’s license or naturalization certificate and current drivers license or state identification card.

A photocopy of the front and back of the applicant’s ID is needed.  Applicants must appear in person and a parent/guardian should be present with a minor applicant.
