Paleontologist visits Jacox Elementary School

Norfolk, Va. – A Jacox Elementary School student received a very special treat for his birthday.

Paleontologist Alexander Hastings came to the school to visit a 3rd grader that wants to be a paleontologist when he grows up. He gave a presentation for the all of the 3rd grade classes.

Hastings is the assistant curator of paleontology at the Virginia Museum of Natural History. He came to the museum from Martin Luther University, Halle-Wittenberg, Germany, where he was a postdoctoral fellow within the Center for Natural Science Collections.
