Newport News, VA -- Nearly 3,000 runners hit the streets for the second annual Newport News One City Marathon.
City manager James Bourey created the event to encourage health and fitness in Hampton Roads.
Sunday's races included a nautical mile fun run for kids, an 8K race, marathon relay and full marathon. New York native Bryan Morsemanwon the marathon with a time of 2:25:25. The world-famous runner uses his winnings from marathons to raise money for his son with spina bifida. Women's division winner Sika Henryclaimed victory with a time of 3:06:55. She also won last year's One City Marathon, which was only her second marathon ever.
