The company volunteered at Waters Middle School Reality Program Thursday and Friday, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. The “Reality Store” benefited all participating students, teachers and company volunteers in understanding life’s financial decisions .

The children went to each booth with their financial cards that tells their monthly income, marital status and family size. Each booth visited will subtracted –  IRS, utilities, daycare, and much more from their monthly income.

“There is no better way to give back to our communities , than to spend time with young people helping them to understand the realities of life. It was fun watching and helping our future leaders meet these challenges,” said one of Dominion’s workers who served as a banker.

The Reality Store is sponsored by the state -funded Virginia Cooperative Extension of Virginia Tech and Virginia State universities. The store is staffed with Dominion Power volunteers who represent business owners- “reality check” counselors and mentors.
