Norfolk, Va. – The USNS Laramie was scheduled to return to Naval Station Norfolk on Friday after a three and a half month deployment.

Due to unforeseen weather changes at sea, the ship’s homecoming was postponed Friday afternoon.

A new arrival date has not been scheduled.

The Laramie, Military Sealift Command’s Combat Logistics Force oiler, has been providing critical combat logistics support to U.S. Navy and NATO assets in the Fifth and Sixth Fleets area of operations.

The Laramie performed 56 at-sea replenishments, transferring 4 million gallons of fuel and 249 pallets of critical cargo.

In addition, Laramie’s port visits to Djibouti, Greece, Israel, Oman and Spain demonstrated their steadfast commitment to promote strong military and maritime relationships in these regions.
