Virginia Beach firefighters investigating how townhouse caught fire

Virginia Beach, Va – Firefighters responded to reports of a home on fire just after 6:30 p.m. Sunday.

Crews found smoke coming from the garage area of a two-story townhouse in the 900 block of Minneapolis Drive .

They extinguished the flames and performed searches.

The fire did not spread beyond the garage but the rest of the home was damaged by smoke.

Residents were able to make it out safely, and nobody was hurt.

Investigators are currently trying to figure out how the incident started.
