Newport News Va., — Lucille Harrelson won $100,000 off of a scratch off that her friend rejected.

Harrelson and some of her friends went to the store to buy some scratch offs.

One of her friends started to buy the winning ticket but then decided not to and bought a different game.

That’s when Harrelson went ahead and bought that ticket which turned out to be┬áthe $100,000 winner.

She didn’t think she was a winner after she scratched it, it wasn’t until she took the ticket to lottery officials that she knew she won.

Harrelson bought the ticket at the Wawa on George Washington Memorial Highway in Yorktown.

She has no immediate plans for her winnings.
